The soft, natural leather is the ultimate in luxury. A Stressless recliner gives perfect support in any position, with superior features you won’t find on other recliners. The glide system follows your slightest movements. The Plus system gives correct neck and lumbar support in every position and the New Stressless Power Leg and Power Leg and Back for those who prefer motorised adjustment of their chairs and sofas. Stressless is the last word in comfort.

Stressless is available at Julian Foye, with major displays at Truro, St Austell, Hayle and Wadebridge.

Stressless recliners and sofas come in different styles, not just to suit your interior but also to offer differences of padding and posture, so you can find the seat which suits you best.

Within the variations on a theme you will find sofas with a choice of high and low adjustable backs—it’s a treat to be able to adjust your sitting position even if you don’t want to recline! There are corner seating arrangements and units designed to be ideal for a home movie theatre. Some of the reclining seats have height adjustable backs as well.

Stressless chairs and sofas are produced by Ekornes of Norway and exported all over the world. The Stressless concept has been developed and continuously refined since its introduction in 1971. There is a complementary collection of Ekornes non-reclining sofas. The NEW power sofas with adjustable leg and headrest at the touch of a button brings a new level of comfort to non-reclining sofas.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner el_class=”pageNewsletter” width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1536760750662{padding-top: 4% !important;padding-right: 4% !important;padding-bottom: 4% !important;padding-left: 4% !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”2023″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner gap=”30″ el_class=”one-col-row”][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][ultimate_heading main_heading=”Choose the Style – Choose the Size” main_heading_color=”#8e2a3d” alignment=”left”][/ultimate_heading][vc_column_text]Most Stressless recliner chairs are available in two or three sizes, to suit people of different weight and build. Visually, the difference is subtle but as soon as you sit down you will realise which is the right chair for you. Having a recliner that fits your body makes all the difference!

Stressless sofas are built to the same comfort standards as the recliner chairs, to give you and your friends real comfort in each individually adjustable seat. Some Stressless sofas are, as with the chairs, available in larger or smaller scale versions.

Your Choice of Leather

Stressless gives you a choice. Paloma is superbly soft semi-aniline leather which has the benefit of a light protective coating to simplify cleaning. Batick or Cori leather types have more robust protection and may be preferred for family use. For more information about your choice of leather, please see below.

Batick is a corrected, pigment-improved and grain-embossed upholstery leather, which has had most of its natural marks removed. Some colours of Batick are enlivened with a two-tone effect. Batick is resistant to fading but changes in colour will occur over time, due to use and exposure to light. The protective layer of lacquer makes cleaning easier. Batick is moderately priced, easy to live with and performs well in use.

Cori is a corrected, pigment-improved and grain-embossed upholstery leather. Cori is somewhat thicker than Batick, allowing it to be given a more pronounced, pebbled grain. Most of the natural marks have been removed. Some colours of Cori are enlivened with a two-tone effect. The protective layer of lacquer makes cleaning easier. Cori is easy to live with, will give good service and its greater thickness gives a more robust feel.

Paloma is a slightly corrected upholstery leather, treated with a combination of dyes and pigments, to give quite a smooth finish, with a light, natural grain pattern. The grain pattern may vary across the item of furniture an minor colour nuance may be noticed. Natural marks left by scars and insect bites are intrinsic features of this leather. A thin coat of lacquer gives Paloma some protection and simplifies cleaning, but Paloma does not have the durable protection which make Batick and Cori such good performers in everyday use. Paloma offers a soft, natural, comfortable feel, which makes it a very popular choice. Because of its popularity, it is offered in a wide colour palette.

Pioneer is a full bodied leather with a good tear resistance and a delicate aniline pull-up finishing. The natural quality of this leather gives it medium-low resistance for colour fastness to light and rubbing, and a natural appeal that becomes more beautiful with age.

Noblesse is the most exclusive of Ekornes’ leather types but also the most vulnerable. It is a full grain, semi aniline leather, which means that the leather is dyed using a light surface treatment. This provides a certain amount of protection, while maintaining the natural softness and glow that are characteristic of a first class upholstery leather. A natural material such as Noblesse retains its original grain and structure, and various grain patterns may be visible at different areas of the furniture. Minor colour variations and marks resulting from scars and injuries may also be visible, and are characteristic of a natural material like Noblesse. Due to the light surface treatment, Noblesse is the most delicate of Ekornes’ leathers. It easily absorbs moisture and is extra sensitive to wear, heat, exposure to sunlight, stains and sweat. Regular maintenance is important in order to maintain the leather’s exceptional appearance.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][ultimate_heading main_heading=”Enjoy the Beauty of Natural Leather” main_heading_color=”#8e2a3d” alignment=”left”][/ultimate_heading][vc_column_text]As leather is a natural product, colour nuances are normal and colours might vary slightly from one product to another. Colour change will occur with time, due to use and the effect of light. Remember that furniture should be protected from direct sunlight and sources of heat.

All Ekornes leather colours are through-dyed. Some colours in the collection have been enhanced with a two tone effect. Ekornes is one of Europe’s major users of upholstery leather and its inspectors impose stringent standards of quality control.

It is important to remember that, although leather furniture is very hard-wearing, it will change in appearance over the years. Please note that bright white leathers are subject to greater risk of discolouring in use, for instance through the transfer of dye from strongly coloured clothes. There is a particular risk from denim or deep dyed fabrics which have not yet been washed or cleaned. Please take care, because Ekornes cannot accept liability for such damage.

Leather is an organic, preserved material. On a piece of furniture that is in daily use, exposed to external stress, it is important to be aware of the following if the leather is to be protected as long as possible:

•  Leather fades when exposed to sunlight. Direct sunlight is particularly damaging.

•  Leather is exposed daily to grease and dirt from hands, hair and clothing. It needs regular cleaning.

•  Leather dries out from warm and dry air.

How do I care for my leather?

•  Avoid direct sunlight. If the furniture is near a large window, use venetian blinds or awnings.

•  Avoid placing leather near radiators or fan heaters.

•  Avoid drying. Air humidity which is comfortable for you is best for the leather.

•  Vacuum the leather carefully to remove dust particles.

•  Clean the leather regularly to remove grease and dirt.

•  Never clean with a microfibre cloth. The ability of a microfibre cloth to absorb grease may cause damage by removing essential protection from your leather furniture.

What care products should I use?

Start caring for your leather furniture immediately. Apply Stressless Leather Protection Cream, which can be purchased from your local Stressless supplier, to all surfaces, neck rests, armrests, seats, etc. The cream nurtures the leather and makes it more resistant to stains, including grease and perspiration.

For day to day care, wipe gently with a moist cloth, then buff with a soft, dry cloth. Frequent cleaning is recommended where hands, bare arms or heads rest against the hide. Avoid excessive wetting or rubbing.

To ensure that your furniture receives the best of care, Ekornes offers its own leather care products. The Stressless Leather Care kit contains a leather cleaner and a protection cream. You should apply the protector to all the surfaces in use (headrest, armrests, seats, etc) when the furniture is new and as a routine maintenance two or three times a year.

We recommend that the leather is cleaned with Stressless leather cleaner at least every six months. Rub gently, for as long as necessary but never rub hard. Always apply protection cream after cleaning. Pay particular attention to areas where you rest on the leather. If you follow these simple directions, you will be able to enjoy your furniture for many years.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][ultimate_heading main_heading=”What can I do if there is a spill?” heading_tag=”h1″ main_heading_color=”#8e2a3d” alignment=”left” sub_heading_font_size=”desktop:18px;”]Although you may not be able to deal fully with all stains yourself, it is a good idea to act quickly for the best results.

How to remove a water based stain: Do not allow the stain to dry: remove it as quickly as possible! Apply a mild soap to a sponge or cotton cloth, wring out and use this to absorb all the liquid, followed by a soft dry cloth. Do not allow the leather to become saturated. If this has happened accidentally, dry it quickly and carefully, for example by using a hairdryer, held well away from the leather. Do not rub.

How to remove a greasy stain: remove as much of the stain as possible with a paper napkin or a soft cotton cloth. Do not rub. Press the cloth against the stain to absorb the grease. Use mild soapy water as above to remove the rest of the stain.

Stain removal should be followed by the use of Stressless leather cleaner and protection cream, as mentioned for normal maintenance.
